About the Artist

Ah, where to begin...

Like the Ichabod of Sleepy Hollow, I too am a school teacher and since I was a small child I have loved a good ghost story.  My German born mother would always tell me tales of the "old" country and my father's campfire stories of Sasquatch could make one's hair stand on end. Gingerbread houses, brightly painted Easter eggs, and glowing jack-o-lanterns were memorable treats that we shared each holiday.

Drawing and creating things came naturally to me, but most of my youth was focused on school..  After meeting my husband Tom we discovered that we both loved all things nostalgic, and in 1998 I found a little time to begin creating again.  Shortly after, I was lucky enough to befriend Ginny Betourne, a wonderful artist.  She invited me to join her at the Halloween and Vine art show, and I have been selling items there ever since.

During our travels we are always on the hunt for primitive antiques and folk art, so our home is filled with many inspirational objects.  Two other members of our family can also conjure up wonderful images for me--a black cat named Spirit and a tabby named Witch "Hazel".

My art has been seen on HGTV's Collectible Treasures with Halloween Collector Mark Ledenbach , Martha Stewart's TV show, and in Pamela Apkarian-Russel's book The Tastes and Smells of Halloween.

I currently sell my art at two shows in California, Halloween and Vine and An Artful Fest.  Please see links for more information.

"However wide awake they may have been before they entered that sleepy region,

they are sure, in a little time, to inhale the witching influence of the air, and begin

to grow imaginative—to dream dreams, and see apparitions."

I hope my art bewitches your dreams,
